This extensive range of low headroom monorail hoists are mounted on a single trolley with four flangeless wheels and guide rollers, designed to run on the bottom flange of a single beam or girder. A reaction roller precludes the need for a counterweight thus reducing the wheel loads. This construction provides a higher top hook position in a restricted headroom compared to a hoist of standard headroom construction.

Most crane and hoist manufacturers offer standard headroom monorail hoists above 12 or 15 tonnes but by incorporating a double trolley design Street offer low headroom construction in capacities up to 25 tonnes. Each trolley runs on four flangeless wheels with guide rollers and a reaction roller obviates the need for a counterweight thus reducing the wheel loads. This construction provides a higher top hook position in a restricted headroom compared to a standard headroom hoist.  All hoists in this range are on the ZX8 chassis with either two or four falls of rope and multiple brake/motor/gearbox/drum diameter combinations to provide a very large number of speed, duty and height of lift options.

ZX hoists mounted on a double girder trolley are available with a single scrolled hoist drum in all capacities up to 32 tonnes and in all capacities up to 80 tonnes with a double scrolled hoist drum.

A double scrolled hoist drum costs more than a single scroll drum but provides true vertical lift and equal trolley wheel loads. The equal wheel loads reduce the cost and size of crane girders such that the overall crane solution with a double scrolled hoist is the most economic at larger capacities and the true vertical lift is a big advantage in some applications. Hoists in this range are on the ZX6,  ZX8 or ZX10 chassis with either 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16  falls of rope and multiple brake/motor/gearbox/drum diameter combinations to provide a very large number of speed, duty and height of lift options.

Base mounted ZX hoists are available with a single scrolled hoist drum in all capacities up to 32 tonnes and in all capacities up to 80 tonnes with a double scrolled hoist drum. Base mounted hoists are the most economic solution when fixed position hoisting is required and can be mounted on a variety of structures. Base mounted hoists are also suitable for replacement hoists on existing trolleys.
